Our immersive student travel programs turn the world into a classroom, creating an educational and inspirational experience that cultivates meaningful connections between people of different countries.
You won’t just see the sights. You’ll meet the people. You’ll live the culture. You’ll understand your world.
Exclusive Opportunities
People to People moments are unique activities offered exclusively through our programs. From exploring Paris with local students, to a discussing politics with a former member of Parliament in London to a bike tour of Soweto Township in Johannesburg, these moments allow students to make a deeper connection with the people and places they visit.
Unique Benefits
Homestays
We believe there is no better way to connect with a new country and culture than by living with a host family. In most of our programs you’ll have the opportunity to live with a peer’s family and discover what it’s really like to be born and raised there.
Exclusive Access
PTP is proud to grant our students unique access to people, places, and events not offered elsewhere. These behind-the-scenes activities are a core part of every program. Examples include meeting a former member of Parliament in London, discussing the Road to Peace with students at a school in Belfast, or meeting with the Swiss Guard in Vatican City.
Community Service
PTP students have the opportunity to give back to a local community by volunteering alongside locals. Community service and involvement in local life are essential components that support our mission. Activities range from connecting with young children at an orphanage in Costa Rica, to cutting peat in a bog in Ireland for warming up houses for the elderly.
Outdoor Adventure
We give students the chance to step outside their comfort zones and participate in local outdoor activities, like sea kayaking among penguins in South Africa, rappelling in Austria, or snorkeling in Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.
Interactive Learning
We offer special interactive learning opportunities where students learn directly from experts in their fields. From a cooking class in Rome, to an anime workshop in Tokyo, to a high-tech educational session at Iceland’s Lava, Volcano and Earthquake Center, we include unique hands-on educational activities in every program.
Local Connections
Not only do travelers create lasting friendships with other American students in their program, they also have the opportunity to connect with peers in the cities they visit. Whether it’s exploring Paris with Parisian teenagers or spending a day at a Fijian school, these global friendships and connections are a vital part of the educational experience.

All-Inclusive Tuition
PTP tuition is all-inclusive, with no surprise add-ons or optional excursions for extra cost. Each program includes international flights, all daily meals, accommodations, entry fees for all activities, and a Delegation Manager who is with the group 24/7. Additions may include local U.S. airfare or optional upgraded insurance plans. Please see your program details for a full list.
Safety First
We make safety our number one priority in every program. With more than 60 years of experience in student travel, and with offices and global partners around the world, we are proud of our commitment to keeping students safe. We set high expectations for our students’ behavior, and every day is fully planned and supervised, ending with a nightly curfew.
The Best Leaders
We set the highest standards and qualification requirements for our delegation leaders, including yearly background checks, annual trainings, and CPR and First Aid Certification. Many of our leaders are highly experienced, with more than 10 years of leading our student travel delegations.
Thorough Preparation
We know there are a lot of questions that come up before, during, and after travel. Every student traveler is assigned a Student Success Advisor to help prepare for the program, ensuring a positive, safe, and successful experience. We also offer monthly online preparation meetings for our students and parents leading up to their departure date.
High Quality Standards
We set very strict quality standards for every aspect of our student travel programs, from our hotels to group activities and excursions.
College Preparation
Our programs are an excellent opportunity to prepare for college, as students explore new interests, build self-confidence, and learn to be more independent. Many alumni say their PTP experience helped in their admission process and with adapting to college life.
Testimonials
I love the way students return from these programs with increased confidence, new perspectives, and a renewed appreciation for life in their own communities. I really feel that students will forever view the world differently after having a People to People experience, because now they are global citizens.

Students have two ways to travel on a People to People International Travel program:
Local Delegations are for students from the same geographic area, chaperoned by educators from that area too. The educators select the programs for their local delegation, so every program may not be offered in your area.
National Delegations are for students coming from all over the United States, chaperoned by educators carefully selected by PTP. Joining a National Delegation is a great way to meet students from all over the country.
