Our immersive student travel programs turn the world into a classroom, creating an educational and inspirational experience that cultivates meaningful connections between people of different countries. For over 60 years we have embodied the vision of President Eisenhower and allowed it to take us beyond the ordinary.
People to People moments are unique opportunities offered exclusively through our programs. From meeting survivors of the Holocaust to exploring Paris with local peers, or living with a family in Salzburg, these moments allow students to make the most of their time abroad and find a true connection to the places and people they visit.
We believe that there is no better way to connect with a new country and culture than by living with a host family. In most of our programs you will have the opportunity to live with a peer’s family and discover what it’s really like to live like a local.
People to People is proud to grant our students special access to people, places, and events not offered elsewhere. These exclusive “behind-the-scenes” activities are a core part of every program, and include opportunities such as meeting a former member of Parliament in London, discussing the Road to Peace with students at a school in Belfast, or meeting with the Swiss Guard in Vatican City.
Students have the opportunity to give back to a local community and volunteer alongside locals during their program. Community service and involvement in local life are essential components that support our mission of peace and understanding. Activities range from connecting with young children at an orphanage in Costa Rica to cutting peat in a bog in Ireland to help warm houses of the elderly.
We like to give students the opportunity to step outside their comfort zones and participate in local activities such as sea kayaking with penguins in South Africa, rappelling in Austria, or snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.
We offer special interactive learning opportunities where students can learn directly from experts in their fields. From cooking classes in Rome, to taking part in an Anime workshop in Tokyo, to a high tech educational session on the Lava, Volcano and Earthquake Center in Iceland, we create unique learning opportunities in every program.
Not only do travelers create lasting friendships with other students in their program, they have the opportunity to connect with peers in the cities they visit. From spending a day exploring Paris led by local Parisian teenagers to spending a day at Fijian school, these global friendships and connections are a vital part of the educational experience
We make safety our number one priority in every program. With over 60 years of experience in the student travel industry, and with offices and global partners around the world, we are proud of our commitment to keeping our students safe. In addition to setting high expectations for our students’ behavior, every day is fully planned and supervised, and ends with a nightly curfew.
The Best Preparation
We know there are a lot of questions that come up before, during, and after travel, so each student is assigned a Student Success Advisor to help them prepare for their program. This helps ensure that all our students have a positive and successful experience.
High Quality Standards
We set very strict quality standards for every aspect of our programs, from our hotels where students never have to share a bed, to group activities and excursions.
All Inclusive Tuition
Tuition is all-inclusive, with no surprise add-ons or optional excursions offered while a program is underway. Each program includes a Delegation Manager who is with each group 24/7, international flights, all meals, accommodations, and entry fees for all activities. Additions may include local US airfare or optional upgraded insurance plans. Please see your program details for a full list.
The Best Leaders
We set the highest standards and qualification requirements for our leaders, including undergoing yearly background checks, annual trainings, and CPR and First Aid Certification. Many of our leaders are highly experienced and have been with us for over 10 years.
Our programs are a great opportunity for students to prepare themselves for college. We teach our students to be more self-aware and give them opportunities to discover their own interests and become more independent. We have heard from many alumni that their experience on our programs helped in their college admission process and adapting to life in college.

You have two ways to travel with People to People International Travel Programs: National Delegations and Local Delegations.
National Delegations are for individual students from all over the United States, and are chaperoned by educators carefully selected by PTP. Joining a National Delegation is not only a great way to explore new parts of the world, but also to meet students from all over the the country.
Local Delegations are for students from the same geographic location and are chaperoned by educators from that same area. The programs have been selected by local educators, so every program may not be offered in your area. If you don’t find a Local Delegation that fits your interest, you can always join a National Delegation.
