As you cross the various time lines between America and the South Pacific you’ll lose a day, but don’t worry, you’ll pick it up back up again on the way home!

Day 3

Enjoy a warm Fijian welcome as you are presented with Shel Lei by an official Pacific Destination Representative in Viti Levu. As Fiji’s largest Island, it is home to over 70% of the country’s population. Explore the City of Nadi before tucking into a tasty local lunch. Soak up some rays around the resort, indulge in a little retail therapy and play a game of volleyball or two. Sit back, relax and take some time to acclimatize to your pacific paradise!

Crystal Clear Waters

Day 4

Set sail on a journey up river, on-board traditional longboats, past the stunning natural beauty of the rainforest. Arrive at crystal clear waters where you’ll find a picture perfect scene that offers you the chance to swim beneath a waterfall. Discover genuine Fijian village life as you’re welcomed with open arms into their community. Take part in a traditional welcome ceremony where you’ll drink a helping of the delicacy ‘Kava’ and tuck into a typical local lunch before exploring the surrounding wildlife on a rainforest walk.

Day 5

Set out on a scenic drive through the famed Coral Coast on your way to the Sigatoka Sand Dunes National Park. Work alongside a team of enthusiastic Park Rangers and take advantage of their expert knowledge on a tour of the area. Immerse yourself in the wildlife of Sigatoka during a special arranged trek including bird watching before helping to preserve its natural beauty by joining a reforestation program. Discover a window into Fiji’s past by unearthing a wealth of history found scattered among the sand dunes.

Day 6

For the ultimate immersive experience of Fijian society attend school for the day, during a specially arranged People to People visit. Listen, learn and play as the locals do during this whirlwind tour of the school system. Alongside your new friends, approach learning from a whole new angle in an exciting new environment, as you look at your own education through the perspective of your peers. Head out into Kula Eco Park on a quest to uncover Fiji’s wild side.

Day 7

Set sail on a cruise to paradise. Board a mind-blowing 110 foot yacht and take in the Governor General’s Brigantine to the many wonders of Mystery Island. Once on the island, you’ll have access to a whole host of amazing activities including local sports, games and snorkeling. Explore the seas on-board a glass-bottom boat tour that allows you to marvel at the area’s magnificent reefs. Life doesn’t get much better than chilling on the beach with good friends and tasty Fijian BBQ food!

Day 8

Bid farewell to Fiji and your local hosts as you set out on the next leg of your South Pacific tour. Upon your arrival in New Zealand, set out on a guided walking tour of Auckland that showcases its many landmarks as well as a variety of hidden gems off the beaten track. From the heights of the Sky Tower to the history of the Viaduct Harbour, uncover a wealth of fascinating facts, tantalizing tales and engaging experiences during an action packed first day in the city.

Day 9

Head to Hokianga, a picturesque drowned valley to the North of Auckland. Following your journey, visit a local school to meet up with your New Zealand peers for an insight into life in this rural part of the country. Immerse yourself in Maori culture, hearing all about their famous myths and legends in the renowned Waipoua Forest. Explore the natural wonders of the forest, including the largest living kauri tress in the world, during a magical twilight walk.

Day 10

Explore some of the most spectacular examples of geology in the world, as you clamber over the Wairere Boulders, made from ancient volcanic magma. Visit the famous Mangungu Mission House, over-looking the Harbour, a serene scene that contradicts the occasional turbulent history of the area. Explore the Waitangi Treaty Grounds; where Māori chiefs first signed their accord with the British Crown that is considered New Zealand’s founding document. Enjoy strolling through one of New Zealand’s great beauty spots with its panoramic views of the Bay of Islands.

Day 11-12

Take a trip into the Kawiti Caves and discover just what exactly is spookily ‘glowing’ up above you, before meeting your host family for the next two nights. People to People’s exclusive homestays are designed to build lifelong friendships, meet local people, sample traditional foods and take part in general family life on the Island. Your host family, can’t wait to welcome you with open arms. While immersed in the life of a genuine New Zealander, you will be introduced to new activities and experiences, including a school visit.

Take part in a full day of thrilling activities designed to help with team building and self-development. These confidence building sports and games include the thrills of a High Ropes Course as well as Bubble Soccer, which is guaranteed to put a smile on the faces of everyone involved. Stay overnight in Tui Ridge, described as the ‘real New Zealand experience’. Gaze out over the lush green fields and rolling landscapes that make this part of the world one of the most beautiful places in which to get up close and personal with nature.

Day 14

Uncover the secrets of the Waimangu Thermal Valley, during a fascinating hike over the volcanic area which showcases the ecology of the area. Here, you’ll also be able to take a skyline gondola ride as well as enjoying the thrills of a luge. Immerse yourself in the stunning setting for the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit films. Following a specially arranged Hobbit themed feast it’s time to live the life of a Hobbit. Visit Hobbiton to see the beautifully detailed props and sets of the smash hit movies and imagine you’re a star of the silver screen.

Take a deep breath… there’s a lot to get through today! Make new friends by trying your hand at a range of popular sports during a specially arranged event. After playing Aussie Rules Football and Cricket alongside locals in Sydney, get to know the city on an orientation tour. Following some famed Aussie cuisine embark on a Sydney Harbour Highlights Tour that showcases the delights of the shoreline while providing an array of fantastic photo opportunities.

Day 16

Take in the famous sights of Sydney including the historic Rocks, Mrs. Macquarie’s Chair with its fabulous views of the harbour and Opera House, the Botanical Gardens, and Darling Harbour. Return to the city and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in the heart of Circular Quay. After lunch you will explore the hallowed theatres and foyers of The Sydney Opera House, where more than 1600 concerts, operas, dramas and ballets take place each year and your experienced guide will be on hand to lead you through every aspect of the building’s 14-year creation and 58-year history. Once you’ve visited areas off limits to the general public and captured photographs from rare vantage points inside the majestic Sydney Opera House, you’ll realize that from the outside you’re only getting half the story. Visit one of Sydney’s oldest institutions dealing in Australia’s precious gem stones. A hands-on description of the types of Opal, an explanation of Opal mining, where Opals are found, how Opals are cut and polished and how to value an Opal.

Travel to one of Australia’s most iconic beaches. Enjoy the thrill of surfing beautiful Bondi beach with your own personal instructor. There is no better way to advance your surfing skills, our private lessons are tailored specifically to meet all your needs. We will provide you with the best possible lesson time and coach so that you develop your surfing at the fastest possible pace while having a fantastic time.

Depart from Darling Harbour on your Sunset Dinner Cruise. During this cruise you will enjoy spectacular views of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge as you cruise the main harbour. At the end of the cruise dawdle along the Darling Harbour foreshore boardwalk before transferring back to your hotel.

This morning fly from Sydney to Brisbane, before making your way by coach to Bundaberg. Bundaberg is located on the sub-tropical central coast of Queensland which has one of the most enviable climates in Australia. The area lays claim to the internationally renowned Southern Great Barrier Reef, Mon Repos Turtle Rookery. Bundaberg City is the provincial hub of this vibrant, unique region, and is centered on the picturesque Burnett River at the southern tip of the Great Barrier Reef.

Day 19

Embark on an excursion to the Great Barrier Reef today. Your vessel for the day is a luxury, high speed, 27 meter catamaran that is custom designed for snorkeling and diving on the reef, providing a platform for the ultimate reef adventure. This is your chance to discover and experience the magnificent underwater world of the Great Barrier Reef and swim with turtles all year round. Lady Musgrave Island is located 50 nautical miles from Bundaberg, with the only navigable lagoon on the entire Great Barrier Reef and is a 45 acre pristine coral cay with 7,000 acres of spectacular surrounding reef and a 3,000 acre protected lagoon. Snorkeler’s of any experience get to explore within the sheltered waters of the reef lagoon.
Snorkel with our resident Turtles, get up close to Manta Rays, swim with Clownfish, small reef sharks, Maori Wrasse and witness the majestic humpbacks during their breeding season. Day 20

Today, join your local and Aboriginal guide for an authentic indigenous hunting, gathering and tasting experience of a lifetime. This eco tour will take you back to a time that pre-dates the arrival of Lt Cook in the Endeavour at the Town of 1770 (Seventeen Seventy), Queensland. Travel the coastline by amphibious LARC! to Eurimbula National Park. Enjoy a theatrical experience, sample local flavors and learn about the wonderful culture that lived here sustainably for tens of thousands of years. After lunch we travel to the Town of 1770/Agnes Water to meet with a local councilor. Here you will learn first-hand about Australian political system of both local and national levels followed by a Q&A session and afternoon tea.
