Please note that if a student is 16 years of age or younger and not traveling on flights with a leader or a parent, the airline may mandate Unaccompanied Minor Services be purchased for travel. Ticket information will be provided to families approximately 3 weeks prior to departure so that these services can be arranged between the parent and the airline direct. All fees associated with these services are the responsibility of the traveler and may be necessary round-trip.

    Where did that day go?
    Board your flight to the world’s smallest continent that boasts one of the most rich and diverse arrays of nature found anywhere in the world.
    As you cross the various time lines between America and Australia you’ll lose a day, but don’t worry, you’ll pick it up back up again on the way home!
  • DAY 3

    Those all-important first impressions Get your first taste of Sydney on a guided orientation, that includes a trip to the world renowned Bondi Beach and exclusive Eastern Suburbs. Discover Darling Harbour, a lively recreational district on Cockle Bay, which forms a centre piece of social activities for many residents of Sydney.

    Following a seaside lunch in Cockle Bay, embark on a Sydney Harbour Highlights Tour that showcases the delights of the shoreline while providing the first of many fantastic photo opportunities.

  • DAY 4

    Surfs up! Ride the waves at Bondi Beach, during a hands on surfing lesson that forms one of the highlights of any trip to Australia. With expert help, you’ll be a pro in no time! Tuck into a tasty local lunch and some well-earned refreshment back on land.

    Handle stunning multi-colored opal, Australia’s national gemstone, during an insightful cutting and polishing demonstration before visiting one of Australia’s most iconic landmarks. During an exclusive People to People moment, take a behind-the-scenes tour of the Sydney Opera House.

  • DAY 5

    A journey through nature Head north, through the vast Australian countryside, towards the township of Coffs Harbour. Along the way, marvel at abundance of fauna and flora that make up this beautiful part of the world. Stop off at a hospital for sick koalas for a cuteness overload and yet more brilliant photo opportunities! This really could be the selfie of the summer!
  • DAY 7

    The best of Brisbane
    Get to know Brisbane by exploring its many wonders alongside an expert guide. Visit the Botanic Gardens, Anzac Square War Memorial and Parliament. As one of the oldest cities in Australia, this impressive city was founded upon the ancient homelands of indigenous tribes.Following your tour of Brisbane, cross the border into Queensland and set sail to Moreton Island. On this island paradise, just 75 minutes from the mainland, you’ll find the Tangalooma Wild Dolphin Resort.
  • DAY 8

    Study with a Marine Biologist
    Immerse yourself in the natural delights of Moreton Island. Take advantage of a wealth of expert knowledge from a team of marine biologists working on understanding the behaviors of the pod of dolphins that visit the resort each day.
    Hand feed dolphins during this once in a lifetime, specially arranged People to People experience before delving beneath the ocean. Snorkel around the numerous sea wrecks off the coast of the resort, while learning about the area’s history as a whaling station. Top off an action packed day by going Sand Tobogganing, a truly exhilarating experience!

    The Sunshine Coast
    Set sail back to the mainland and drive up the Sunshine Coast for stunning sea-side views. Take a break with some well-earned relaxation soaking up the rays on one of the regions many beautiful beaches.

    Australian School Days

    Alongside your new friends, approach learning from a whole new angle in an exciting new environment, as you look at your own education through the perspective of your peers.
  • DAY 11

    Getting to know the reptiles
    Marvel at the breath-taking displays of stalactites in Olsen’s Capricorn Caves before meeting with a government representative to discuss the finer points of Austrian politics. Delve into the differences between politics in the USA and Australia, international relationships, and environmental issues.
    Following lunch, head to a crocodile farm to learn more about the world’s largest reptiles. Come face to face with these impressive and intimidating animals as you listen to the experts during a torch-lit evening tour that ends with you having the chance to sample a crocodile dinner.
  • DAY 12

    Scenery worthy of the silver screen
    Make your way through stunning scenery towards Airline Beach. Here you will not only find a wealth of natural wonders but also the mainland port of the Whitsunday Islands. Catch a glimpse of Mackay as you make your way past thousands of hectors of cane sugar fields.
  • DAYS 13 & 14

    Life in the bush
    Get out into the great outdoors and give a little back to Mother Nature. Answer the call to work, during your stay on a farm, among the flora and fauna of the Australian outback. Crack a bull whip and experience the genuine farmhand life before tucking into a home cooked meal and swapping stories with your new friends.

    Living the Australian life
    Get a taste of the true life of the Australian during one of the highlights of your whirlwind adventure. Following your journey to Cairns, meet your homestay family who have been specially selected due to their ages and interests in order to provide you with the most rewarding experience possible.
    Hang out with locals while living the day to life of your peers and pick up a few Aussie slang words along the way! This is your chance to make life long, world-wide friends and get to know the realities of a completely different culture.
  • DAY 17

    Meeting the first Australians
    Meet members of the world’s oldest surviving culture, Aboriginal Australians. Get to know your hosts while discovering their fascinating ancient history. Learn to throw a boomerang, take in a traditional dance and listen to the famous tones of didgeridoo music.
    Join your Aboriginal friends for lunch, where they will show off some of their tasty delicacies while sharing a wealth of fascinating stories. Pay close attention in an attempt to better understand a whole new perspective on life.
  • DAY 18

    Snorkel the Great Barrier Reef
    Cruise to the Outer Barrier Reef across cool blue waters. They’ll be an expert Marine Biologist on hand to answer all your questions about the ecology and history of the Reef. While snorkelling you can marvel at tropical fish, giant clams and a rich variety of stunning coral. You may even see a Giant Turtle gracefully glide by!
    During the evening, visit Cairns Night Market for some last minute souvenir shopping, and a chance to let your hair down during your final night out in Australia.

    Depart for USA
    Return home from your voyage of self-discovery with a wealth of new friends and memories that will last a life-time.
