“I can’t wait to meet my student delegates and see their expressions as they experience new cultures and foods. I’m excited to hear their stories and to be a part of this chapter of their lives.”
Melissa is from Seattle, WA. She has a BA in Business and Marketing, a Master’s in Teaching and is endorsed in Physical Education. After spending twelve years as a classroom teacher, Melissa now works as a physical education teacher. Melissa’s first time traveling internationally was to the Philippines when she was 8 years old. She gained many international friends and started traveling to Sweden with her best friend. She was a nanny in France and traveled to Germany, Italy, Czech Republic, Hungary, and Switzerland. She has been leading People to People programs for many years and has taken students to Australia, New Zealand, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, and France. Melissa loves reading, learning, exploring, and seeing new destinations for the first time.
“I feel honored to be apart of this delegation and journey to Japan with our students. This will be life changing in many ways for each of them, often in different ways. I am also excited to really ‘feel’ Japan. I have read so much, and I can’t wait to see the colors, feel the culture, walk the streets, and connect to their daily lives.”
