Meet The Leaders
Alyna is from Silver Spring, Maryland. She has a Bachelor’s in Middle School Education with a focus in math and science from Towson University and a Master’s in Human Growth and Development from the University of Maryland. She teaches middle school science and directs her school’s musicals. Alyna traveled as a student on a People to People program to Australia while in high school and is excited to now be traveling as a leader. She loves to travel, and has visited twenty countries. Beyond her love of international adventure, Alyna likes to read, swim, kayak and anything else that lets her be outside. Given her science background, she is looking forward to traveling to Iceland and seeing the thermal springs!
“I am so excited to be a part of this program because experiencing travel and other parts of the world can teach us a lot about ourselves. I am looking forward to seeing how we all change and what we learn about ourselves over these 18-days, as well as exploring the countries we visit.”
Bella is from Pearl, Mississippi where she teaches geometry at Northwest Rankin High School. She has a bachelor’s degree in secondary mathematics education from the University of Mississippi. She traveled as a student with People to People when she was fourteen to England, France, Belgium and The Netherlands. Since then, Bella has visited Portugal, Canada, South Africa and Greece. In her free time, she likes to read, watch Netflix, practice yoga, and relax with her husband and their dogs.
“Other than seeing all of the beautiful natural waterfalls and geysers in Iceland, I am super excited about all the new scientific information that we’re going to learn! I simply just can’t wait to travel abroad with all of you!”
Carol is from Lancaster, Ohio. She studied at Ohio State University, Maygrove University and has a Master Teacher Certification. Carol currently teaches music and has also taught chorus and instrumental classes. Carol began traveling with People to People in 2003 after her son traveled in 2002. When she’s not traveling, Carol likes to sing, play the piano, crochet and hike. Carol is always open to new experiences and to making sure all her students feel ready for travel. Carol can’t wait for all the new adventures she will have with the students:
“It is difficult to adequately express my love for traveling with students. It is fresh and new every time. I can’t wait to meet our whole student delegation and to start this adventure together!”
Tiffini is from Pensacola, Florida. She studied biological science at Mississippi State University and now teaches science and journalism. She traveled as a student delegate with People to People in 2009 to Italy and Greece and is thrilled to come on this year as a leader. She has been to three continents and all over the United States. Besides traveling, Tiffini likes to read, keep up with her tv shows, and loves to try new things. She is looking forward to experiencing Iceland, Paris and London for the first time.
“My goal is to make every little thing an adventure. I want our student delegates to make memories that they will talk about for a lifetime. We will have a safe and exciting journey together. I cannot wait to travel will y’all! Let’s go!”
