Meet The Leaders

Student Travel Leader

Jean R.

Jean is from St. Louis, Missouri. She studied at the University of Missouri at St. Louis and Webster University, and holds a Master’s in Information Technology. She has been teaching Information Technology for twenty years. Outside the classroom, Jean serves as an advisor for the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), coaches cheerleading and works as a moderator for several student clubs. She has led People to People programs for seven years. She has traveled all over the US and has visited much of Europe, including England, France, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, The Netherlands, and Greece. Jean’s hobbies include going to the movies, personal fitness, travel shows, and attending St. Louis Cardinals games.

“I am so excited to see the expression on the students’ faces when they see some famous landmarks in person. I want students and families to know that I am very reliable, outgoing, caring and optimistic. I enjoy having fun and connecting to my students, and am happy that I get to share travel experiences with my amazing students while learning more about them.”

Kevin F.

Kevin Ford is from Clinton, New York. He received his Bachelor’s in Meteorology and his Master’s in Education from SUNY Oswego. Kevin was also named a New York State Master Teacher in 2017. He currently teaches earth science, environmental science and AP physical geology. Kevin co-chairs the school-wide science fair, coaches varsity tennis, and serves as a co-advisor for his school’s student council. Through student council, Kevin serves on the board for the New York State Council on Leadership and Student Activities as a district representative and on the executive board as Director of Students. He has traveled with students often between his involvement with his school’s student council and leading People to People programs. In all, Kevin has traveled to thirteen countries and thirty-one states. His other interests include college basketball, college hockey and history.

“I am looking forward to visiting Italy and seeing all of the famous historic sites with the students.”

Teacher-led student travel

Kate A.

Kate is from Cleveland, Ohio. She has a BA in Education and a BA in History both from the University of Akron and is currently pursuing an MA in Educational Technology from Bowling Green State University. Kate now teaches US history. She has also worked as a coach and athletic director. Kate’s love of travel started young and has only grown over the years. She studied abroad in Madrid, Spain, backpacked through Mexico, and has led four other People to People programs. Kate loves to be outdoors, and some of her favorite activities include hiking, running and biking. She spends her free time playing in a recreational co-ed volleyball league, reading, and keeping up with her two puppies.

“There is so much about this trip I am looking forward to. I’m excited to travel with these students for the next 19 days while making memories that will last a lifetime!”

Student Travel Leader

Ashley T.

Ashley is from Chesapeake, VA. She studied at Longwood University and has been teaching in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia for eight years. She has traveled with People to People five times. She is excited to travel on the Mediterranean Dreams program this summer and see Spain for the first time. In her spare time, Ashley enjoys crafting and spending time with friends, family and her dog, Bentley.

“I am very excited to travel on the Mediterranean Dreams program for the first time this summer with all of you. I have never been to Spain so I am very much looking forward to learning more about the Spanish culture with the students!”
