Go behind the scenes on a tour of The United States Capitol which is a monument, a working office building, and one of the most recognizable symbols of representative democracy in the world. With your professional guide, travel around the city and learn more about how this area became a federal district and the capital of the United States of America.

Today you will visit with a government official to talk about the importance of Global Peace and how each of you can play an active role in supporting the mission of People to People International. Later, visit The Smithsonian, which is the world’s largest museum and research complex. Take some time to venture around some of the 11 world-class museums along the National Mall. Tonight, you will board your international flight to Europe.

Welcome to Dublin, the capital of the Republic of Ireland. This afternoon enjoy a guided tour of Dublin, visit St. Patricks Cathedral and take some time to relax in St. Stephen’s Green before your dinner.

Feel a mix of centuries-old history and modern-day college life on a tour of the renowned Trinity College, which was founded back in 1592. Then take a stroll down the world-famous O’Connell Street for some shopping and later visit the Ha’penny Bridge.

Day 6
Today you will travel from Ireland to England across the Irish Sea. Visit Warwick Castle to experience a medieval encampment. Upon arriving at the Castle you will be greeted by Richard Neville, the Earl of Warwick, and his knight of the Realm. Later you will participate in a reenactment, including witnessing the firing of the world’s largest slingshot.

In the morning you’ll explore the ancient Roman city of Chester, before continuing your travels to London. For centuries London has been one of the world’s most influential cities, and over the next two days you’ll see just how much it has to offer in iconic sights, diverse cultures, museums, music and more. Tour the very best of London, see iconic landmarks like Tower Bridge, The Houses of Parliament, Piccadilly Circus, and Trafalgar Square.

Tour the famous Globe Theatre, and join a drama workshop focused on the works of Shakespeare, the most celebrated playwright of all time. After some free time this afternoon, soar high above the city’s skyline on the Coca-Cola London Eye ferris wheel, taking in the incredible panoramic views.

Visit the Tower of London, home to the Crown Jewels and over a thousand years of history, then head over to Buckingham Palace to witness the Changing of the Guard. Afterwards, explore London by boat, cruising past the many world-famous landmarks that line the banks of the River Thames. In the afternoon meet with a former Member of British Parliament. Tonight, enjoy dinner and a theater show in London’s West End.

This morning you will board the hi-speed Eurostar train and cross under the English Channel on your way to Paris. Today, you’ll visit the famed Louvre Museum. The museum was once a palace, and now it houses art and works from throughout history, in every kind of style and medium you can think of. The highlight for many is the incomparable Mona Lisa.

Today you will see the world-renowned Champs-Elysées, Arc de Triomphe and Notre Dame Cathedral. Later, spend time with a group of local Parisian students. You’ll learn about their daily life in Paris, and hear their impressions of the city. In the evening, make your way to the Eiffel Tower and see its impressive after-dark light show.

Take a trip out to the spectacular Palace of Versailles, where French royalty lived their over-the-top opulent lifestyle until the French Revolution. Learn the amazing history of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, as you walk through the royal apartments, see the famous Hall of Mirrors, and stroll the gardens outside. This afternoon, visit Montmartre, famous for its local artists. You’ll have the opportunity to meet with one of them, getting an insider’s view on the Parisian art scene.

Day 13
Travel to Bruges, the picture-perfect Belgian town, where the cobblestone streets and historical buildings transport you back to the Middle Ages. Later, your journey continues in the Netherlands, where you’ll visit the Dutch windmill park Kinderdijk, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Take a bike tour past the picturesque windmills—quintessential Holland—and then spend an afternoon connecting with Dutch students over a soccer game or picnic.

Day 14
Visit a Dutch farm to learn how cheese and clogs are made. Explore the farm and join in some traditional Dutch games. Later, return to Amsterdam and visit Anne Frank’s House. The house and museum is a fascinating and deeply moving glimpse into the Holocaust, a concrete reminder of the importance of cultural understanding and global peace. End your day with dinner on a canal cruise, where you’ll see Amsterdam from a whole new perspective.

Continue your travels to Berlin. Take in the sights and sounds of this ever-changing city as you stroll down the Kurfürstendamm. You will get a glimpse of a modern, thriving city, that was once a city torn from war and political division during the 20th Century. Visit The TV Tower, which was built in the 1960s as both a symbol of Communist power and of Berlin.

Day 16
Visit a defining feature of the Cold War, Checkpoint Charlie, at the infamous crossing point between East and West Germany. Explore the Checkpoint Charlie Museum. Meet with a time witness who lived during the separation of East and West Berlin. Later, give back to Berlin and volunteer with a local non-profit organizations that works to improve children’s lives in the community.

Day 17
This morning travel to Dresden, a city greatly affected by the actions of World War II yet even after the war it was able to retain its reputation as a place of beauty. Later, continue on too to Prague: “the City of a Hundred Spires.” Go off the beaten path and explore the Old Town with its array of ancient treasures, architecture, and hidden gems. After dinner, take in a show at the Black Magic Theater.

Day 18
This morning travel to Vienna, the capital city of Austria. Vienna is world-renowned for its classical music, and Imperial palaces, including Schönbrunn, the Habsburgs’ summer residence. This afternoon, meet local blind students for a role reversal exercise, leaving you to rely on blind students for basic needs in your new surroundings.

This morning gain insights into the Holocaust from an expert passionate about World War II education during an open discussion on this turbulent time of European history. This afternoon, board your private vintage tram and ride through the city in style towards Schönbrunn Palace, summer residence of the Austrian Emperor. Tonight, join a Classical Viennese Concert while walking in the footsteps of celebrated composers Mozart and Strauss.

This morning travel to Salzburg. Embrace the spirit of “The Sound of Music” during a day of exploration and adventure in the beautiful mountain scenery of Austria. Experience a thrilling ropes course and ride a cable car to Gruneck, with spectacular views the whole time. Then go on the thrilling Alpine Coaster, an amazing feat of design and construction that gives you an unforgettable ride down the mountain. Later, meet your Austrian host family and settle in for the next two days.

Settle in at your new home in this exclusive People to People experience. Over the next couple of days, you’ll immerse yourself in the everyday life of an Austrian family, enjoying everything from regional foods and local traditions to social activities with students your age.

Say farewell to your Austrian family before making your way to Italy. You will reach Jesolo, a seaside resort town in the province of Venice, just in time to spend some relaxing time on the beach and have dinner with your fellow student delegates.

Start your day navigating Venice’s picture perfect canals by Gondola. See all of the sites including the Guggenheim Museum, the “Fenice Theater,” and Mozart’s residence. Learn about Venice’s most celebrated exports and take part in a Murano glass blowing demonstration. Dive into an array of tasty pasta dishes for lunch before heading out on a guided tour of the city to see the Basilica San Marco and the Bridge of Sighs. Later, travel to Tuscany.

Welcome to Florence, a living museum of art, architecture and history, and experience the city first-hand on an expert-led guided tour. Visit the Accademia Gallery, where you’ll see Michelangelo’s David and an impressive collection of Renaissance art This afternoon, visit Pisa and see the famously unusual Leaning Tower. Tonight, join a pizza-making class, where you’ll learn the secret to cooking up this Tuscan favorite meal.

Receive an official welcome at the American Cemetery in nearby Florence. There you’ll unearth the history of the area and learn about the brave sacrifices of soldiers, including over 4,000 Americans during World War II. This afternoon continue on to Rome and take part in an interactive gladiator school and learn more about the live’s of ancient Roman gladiators.

Rome is one of the most significant cities in the long history of Western Civilization. Today, take a tour of the ancient Colosseum and Roman Forum — both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Feel the ancient buzz of daily life that unfolded here for gladiators, spectators, merchants, and politicians.

Day 28
Visit Vatican City, the center of the Catholic Church and the world’s smallest country. Visit the Vatican Museums, see the famous ceiling frescos of the Sistine Chapel, and walk through St. Peter’s Basilica. You’ll even meet with a member of the Swiss Guard, hearing his tales of guarding the Pope and learning what it takes to join one of the oldest military units in the world.

Today you will fly from Rome to Athens. Set your sights on the majestic Acropolis and magnificent Parthenon, which perfectly embody the glory of ancient Greece. Following some free time, put your dancing shoes on and learn the fundamentals of the Greek dance Sirtaki. Enjoy dinner with local families and learn more about the Greek culture and what it’s like for teenagers living in Athens.

Today will have the opportunity to work alongside marine biologists at a sea turtle rescue center. Later, get in-depth tour of the Acropolis and learn about this ancient Greek settlement before your final farewell dinner with your delegation.
