Day 2
Welcome to Rome. Get ready to travel back to one of the most significant chapters in the history of human civilization. See the iconic sights, like the Pantheon, Spanish Steps, and Trevi Fountain. On your tour of the ancient Colosseum and Roman Forum—both UNESCO World Heritage Sites—feel the ancient buzz of daily life that unfolded here for gladiators, spectators, merchants, and politicians. And of course, your day in Rome wouldn’t be complete without a taste of the local favorite treat: gelato.

Day 3
Discover Vatican City, the center of the Catholic Church and the world’s smallest country. On your once-in-a-lifetime tour led by a professional guide, visit the Vatican Museums, see the spectacular frescos of the Sistine Chapel, and walk through St. Peter’s Basilica. You’ll even have an exclusive opportunity to meet with a former member of the Swiss Guard, hearing his tales of guarding the Pope, getting more behind-the-scenes insight into the Pope’s home, and learning what it takes to join one of the oldest military units in the world.

Renaissance Journey
Day 4
Continue on to Florence. This city was the birthplace of the Renaissance and remains a living museum of art, architecture, and history. With the help of an expert guide, visit the Accademia Gallery, where you can see Michelangelo’s famous statue David and many other impressive collections of Renaissance art. Meet local Italian students for a peer-to-peer guided walk through the city. See the towering Duomo and the bronze doors to the Baptistery, fittingly known as the Gate to Paradise. Later, meet your Italian homestay family and get settled into their home for the next couple of days.

Day 4-6
Be immersed in the traditional Italian way of life for the next two days with your homestay family. Your homestay family is carefully selected, based on matching you with peers your own age and with activities designed to provide you with the most authentic experience possible. Eat regional foods, meet local students, and see the real Italy during this exclusive People to People experience.

Day 7
Your journey continues in Venice, once a strong naval power and one of the most important cities on the world stage. On a guided tour, learn what made Venice so significant and see all the key sights, including the Basilica San Marco and the Bridge of Sighs. Later, embark on a classic Venetian experience: a gondola ride on the city’s legendary canals.

Outdoor Adventures
Day 8
Today involves local outdoor challenges, including adventure and team-building activities. Take part in adrenaline-fueled activities like white water rafting or a ropes course with a mix of trekking, climbing, and rappelling designed for all abilities. This day of team-building and leadership activities will be as rewarding as it is fun!

Day 9
Travel to the capital city of Milan, known for its high fashion and sophistication. See the city from a rooftop tour of the breathtaking Duomo di Milano, and learn about its storied history. Then discover the art and history on display at some of the city’s most celebrated museums and galleries. Tonight, you’ll have the opportunity to attend a local soccer game to see first-hand how much Italians love their futball.
