Day 1-2

Board your flight to the world’s smallest continent, boasting one of the most rich and diverse arrays of nature found anywhere in the world. You’ll lose a day as you cross the various time zones between America and Australia, but don’t worry, you’ll pick it back up again on the way home.

Please note: The July 9, 2019 departure will be reversed from Brisbane to Sydney.

Day 3

Welcome to Sydney, one of the world’s most loved cities. Sydney’s laid-back outdoor lifestyle and physical allure make it one of the world’s top cities to visit and live. The stunning harbor provides a dramatic backdrop for the city’s famous icons – the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. Iconic beaches – most notably Bondi and Manly – and five major national parks deliver unforgettable outdoor experiences. This afternoon you will learn to play cricket at the historic Sydney Cricket Ground with some locals before getting your first glimpse of the city while enjoying dinner in Darling Harbour.

Day 4

This morning embark on a city sights tour. Take in the famous sights of Sydney including the historic Rocks, Darling Harbour and Sydney Opera House. Visit the Sydney Opera House and explore every aspect of the building’s 14-year creation and 58-year history. Later, visit the New South Wales State Parliament to learn about the structure and history of how this state is governed.

Surf's Up

Day 5

Travel to Bondi Beach, one of Australia’s most iconic beaches. Enjoy the thrill of surfing beautiful Bondi beach with your own personal instructor. Our private lessons are tailored specifically to meet all your needs and experience – even if its’ your first time surfing. Tonight, depart from Darling Harbour on your Sunset Dinner Cruise. During this cruise you will enjoy spectacular views of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge lit up at night.

Koala Care

Day 6

This morning, start your travels to Coff’s Harbour. Along the way, visit the Koala Hospital in Port Macquarie. Here you will have the opportunity to learn more about koalas, and the care that they receive at this center. You’ll even have the chance to hold one!  As a way of giving back, a donation will be made on behalf of your delegation to adopt a koala to provide care for a year.

Surfer's Paradise

Day 7

Continue your journey north and visit Byron Bay. Here you will stand at Cape Byron – the most Eastern Point of the Australian continent. Take a walk on Byron Bay’s Main Beach and watch out for dolphins competing for waves with the local surfers. The Gold Coast is a modern city of glittering high-rise buildings, built around superb beaches, including the world renowned ‘Surfers Paradise’.  Later, continue to the Gold Coast to meet your Australian host family.

Day 9-10

This morning start your travels to the Outback.  Experience Outback Australia on a remote cattle station on this unique People to People Farm Stay. Enjoy horseback riding, 4WD farm tours, home cooking, campfires, feeding animals, cow milking and red dust! The farm consists of 2,600 acres of land with 400 beef cattle.

Day 11

Today, you will have the opportunity to visit the local community school and meet students and teachers. You’ll have the chance to visit the “Friendship Pavilion” that was built in honor of all the People to People Student Delegations that have visited this community over the years.

Great Barrier Reef

Day 12

Embark on an excursion to the Great Barrier Reef. This is your chance to discover and experience the magnificent underwater world of the Great Barrier Reef. Lady Musgrave Island is a 45 acre pristine coral cay with 7,000 acres of spectacular surrounding reef and a 3,000 acre protected lagoon. Snorkeler’s of all experience levels will get to explore within the sheltered waters of the reef lagoon. Snorkel with turtles, get up close to manta rays, swim with clownfish, small reef sharks, and witness the majestic humpbacks during their breeding season.

Day 13

Today, join your local and Aboriginal guide for an authentic indigenous hunting, gathering and tasting experience. This eco tour will take you back to a time that predates the arrival of Lt. Cook in the Endeavour at the Town of 1770, Queensland. Travel the coastline to Eurimbula National Park, adjacent to the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. You will take an easy bush walking tour with an indigenous guide. Enjoy a theatrical experience, sample local flavors and learn about the wonderful culture that lived here sustainably for tens of thousands of years. After lunch, travel to the Town of 1770 to meet with a local councilor. Here you will learn first-hand about Australian political system of both local and national levels followed by a Q&A session and afternoon tea.

Day 14

Head south to the Sunshine Coast. Today, you will have the opportunity to visit a wildlife park.  You will learn about the native wildlife of Australia, including the kangaroo and koala.

Day 15

Get to know Brisbane by exploring its many wonders. Visit the Botanic Gardens, Anzac Square War Memorial, and Parliament. This impressive urban area was founded upon the ancient homelands of indigenous tribes and is one of the oldest cities in Australia. Join your delegation for your Farewell Dinner.
