    Depart the USA onboard your flight to Beijing.
  • Day 3

    Secrets of Tiananmen
    Begin by visiting Tiananmen Square, one of the most recognizable places in the world. Continue into the ancient Forbidden City, the most impressive of the Imperial Palaces. Enroll in a cooking class and end the day with an authentic North Chinese Banquet.
  • Day 4

    Into the Wild, Over the Wall
    On one of the highlights of the tour, journey to the Great Wall of China, arguably one of the greatest construction projects ever. End the day with local students in a martial arts school.
  • Day 5

    In and Around Beijing
    Explore Tianjin, the largest coastal city in the north of China. In the afternoon, travel by fast speed train and visit Jing Garden where the last Emperor used to live.

    The Pursuit of Truth
    After breakfast visit the Temple of Confucius, the educational institute devoted to the scholars and philosophers of Confucian thinking.

    On the Silk Road
    Welcome to the eternal city of Xi’an. Explore this diverse city at the eastern end of the Silk Road, an important gateway to the northwest region of China.
  • Day 8

    Ancient Armies
    Marvel at the crown jewel of Xi’an, the Museum of the Terracotta Warriors. Visit a workshop that replicates the warriors, then learn the technique used in their production and hear from one of the villagers who made the discovery.
  • Day 9

    Art School
    Visit an art studio and meet local, well known artist Pan Xiaoling during one of two special classes. Get an up-close view of the 7th Century Buddhist landmark, the Small Wild Goose Pagoda.
  • Day 10

    Bridging the Gap
    Welcome to Tibet. Travel to Lhasa, the provincial capital of Tibet, in the Himalayan Mountains. Explore over a 1000 years of spiritual history in perhaps the most sacred of Buddhists districts.
  • Day 11

    The Power of Politics
    Visit Potala Palace which remains a world-famous symbol of the enigmatic power of politics and religion. Perched on a small hill overlooking the city, the majestic citadel was once the palace of Tibetan royal family and seat of the Dalai Lama.
  • Day 12

    In Search of Enlightenment
    After breakfast head to a typical local tea house and experience morning tea Tibetan style—a ritual that represents a huge part of regional social life. Reflect on your trip at the Drak-Yerpa Monastery, perched on top of a cliff. Finally, interact with local students and see how the welfare system benefits the children.

    At Peace with Nature
    Drive to Yamdrok Tso Lake, one of three holy lakes known for its scenic beauty. Visit a local village and experience the local life-style. Return to Lhasa and visit Sera Monastery and watch the Tibetan Buddhist monks debating with each other as part of their religious training.
  • Day 14

    A Taste of Heaven
    Welcome to Chengdu, the provincial capital of Sichuan, dubbed a ‘Heaven-like’ City. Explore Jin Li Alley, said to be the oldest business street in Chengdu. Today the alley showcases many original buildings dating back to the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
  • Day 15

    The Perfect Remedy
    Chengdu, as the home to one of the most well-known universities of Traditional Chinese Medicine, provides a fascinating lecture by one of their well respected resident professors. Spend the afternoon exploring the Sanxingdui Museum.
  • Day 16

    The Bear Necessities
    Sichuan Province is the native environment of the giant panda. Enjoy unbelievable contact with them under the guidance of zoologists. Assist with clearing their living environment, feeding the bears and engaging in one of the many aid projects for wild pandas.
  • Day 17
