People to People Moments
- Accept an important honor as you join in drumming and dancing with the Piikani nation.
- Learn about Canadian government as you go behind the scenes in Victoria’s Parliament.
- Explore Petroglyph Provincial Park, and discover petroglyphs, stone tools, and tales of the First Nations people.
- Sleep in a tipi at the First Nations camp.
- Interact with wildlife and marine biologists at the Pacific Biological Station.
- Discover daily life in a Hutterite colony.

Top Program Activities
- Go on a whale-watching expedition in the San Juan Islands.
- Challenge yourself on the TreeGO, an amazing climbing course soaring high above a massive Douglas fir forest.
- Try your hand at making your own obsidian arrowhead!
- Take a gondola to the top of Sulphur Mountain, and dine in the Summit Restaurant surrounded by the crests of the Rocky Mountains.
- Have a relaxing soak in the hot springs at the base of Sulphur Mountain.
- Journey to the Columbia Icefield, which feeds six major glaciers.
- Visit the bones of Albertosaurus (a cousin of the Tyrannosaurus rex) and some of the best fossils in the world.
- Find out what it takes to be a true Olympic champion at Calgary’s premier recreational attraction, the Canada Olympic Park.

Victoria, Canada
- Take a ferry to Vancouver Island.
- Have lunch at the Strangers Corridor, the restaurant normally reserved for Parliament members only.
- Explore Victoria’s Parliament and grounds with a knowledgeable guide to learn about Canada’s parliamentary process.
- Wander the Craigdarroch Castle, one of the finest examples of Victorian architecture in the world.
- Spot pods of whales as you sail through the San Juan Islands.
Nanaimo, Canada
- Challenge yourself on the TreeGO, an amazing climbing course soaring high above a massive Douglas fir forest.
- Visit Petroglyph Provincial Park to learn about petroglyphs and the early First Nations people who created them.
- Visit the Pacific Biological Station, and meet with marine biologists.
- Participate in an ecosystem preservation project by collecting and categorizing unnatural marine debris.
Okanagan, Canada
- Travel the scenic Coquihalla Highway to the lakeside town of Kelowna, and have lunch at the beautiful Bridal Falls.
- Stay on the University of British Columbia Okanagan campus.
- Witness a stone-tool demonstration from a renowned archaeologist at the university.
- Try your hand at making your own obsidian arrowhead!
Banff and the Canadian Rockies
- Experience the breathtaking beauty of Glacier National Park.
- Learn about avalanche control at the Rogers Pass Discovery Centre.
- Encounter the powerful gray wolf of the Northern Lights Wildlife Wolf Centre.
- Take a gondola to the top of Sulphur Mountain to dine in the Summit Restaurant surrounded by the crests of the Rocky Mountains.
- Enjoy a soak in the hot springs framed between a brilliant sunset and a rosy alpenglow.
Banff and the Athabasca Glacier, Canada
- Journey to the Columbia Icefield, a massive accumulation of snow and ice that serves as the headwater for rivers that flow to the Pacific, Arctic, and Atlantic oceans.
- Walk on the Athabasca Glacier, a tongue of ice almost four miles long.
- Climb into a specially designed snowcoach, and drive out onto the glacier’s surface to learn about its formation and movement.
- Drink some of the purest water to be found anywhere—from snow that fell hundreds of years ago!
- Take in one of the world’s most beautiful lakes, Peyto Lake, which gets its striking turquoise color from glacial rock particles.
Brocket, Alberta
- Travel to Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can explore the history, culture, and traditions of Canada’s First Nations people.
- Take part in drumming and dancing led by elders of the Piikani nation.
- Gather around the campfire to sample some traditional foods.
- Experience firsthand what it is like to sleep in a tipi at the First Nations camp.
Drumheller Valley and the Badlands, Canada
- Pass through Canada’s wild Badlands, and wonder at the power of the glaciers that carved its massive rock formations.
- Explore the renowned Royal Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology.
- Come face to face with the Albertosaurus, a meat-eating dinosaur named for the region of Canada it dominated.
Calgary, Canada
- Visit a colony of Hutterites, who preserve a simple, peaceful way of life.
- Kick back for some fun with fellow Ambassadors, and join in the games and unique activities at the Canada Olympic Park.
- Experience a commanding view of the city from the top of Calgary Tower.
