People to People medical exchanges provide a method to explore issues in your field:
- Share implementation of new technology and systems to improve care in developing nations, or learn about innovative diagnostic and therapeutic techniques in medically advanced countries.
- Witness patient care in a variety of settings. Alongside other healthcare professionals, compare the incidence and treatment of disease. Perhaps study the training and utilization of medical and paramedical personnel in rural areas.
- Meet with eminent peers from host countries and develop comprehensive understanding of international developments in academic and practical spheres.
- Return with the knowledge that you have benefited your hosts while gaining personally from the experience.
People to People Citizen Ambassador Programs will apply for continuing medical education credits for all qualifying educational activities. Delegations are generally granted 10-20 hours of continuing education credit. The number of credits granted (based on itinerary) will be confirmed prior to the time of travel.
Our medical delegations for nurses are generally awarded 10.0 – 20.0 contact hours through the joint sponsorship of the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing and Citizen Ambassador Programs. The University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
