| QAre educational credits available? |
AFor your convenience, we’ve separated credit eligibility by program.
Medical delegation for physicians People to People Citizen Ambassador Programs will apply for continuing medical education credits for all qualifying educational activities. Delegations are generally granted 10-20 hours of continuing-education credit. The number of credits granted (based on itinerary) will be confirmed prior to the time of travel.
Medical delegation for nurses Nurses are generally awarded 10-20 contact hours through the joint sponsorship of the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing and People to People Ambassador Programs. The University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
Technically focused medical delegations These programs are sometimes approved for educational credits through the delegation leader. We award credits on a case-by-case basis, so if credits are available, delegates will be informed in the original invitation letter or prior to departure.
Law delegations These delegations are generally approved for legal education credits through the delegation leader or the individual state (state bar, state court, etc.). These are considered on a case-by-case basis, so if credits are available, delegates will be informed in the original invitation letter, or they can request an outline of available credits approximately 3-4 weeks prior to travel. Your delegation leader will also have a final list of credits granted by each state during travel. Not all states will accredit our type of program, but every effort is made to obtain credits for each delegation. Credits are applied for based only on your state of residence, and we cannot apply for credits in states with no MCLE requirement.
